Fluid Statics lab 1

in this lab we will find the buoyancy force exerted on a  weight submerged in water, We used several methods to calculate such force.
First method (Underwater Weighing method)

Second Method (Displaced Fluid Method)

Third method (Volume of Object method )

 Summary:

in conclusion, the result of the buoyant force seems to be overlapping with each other and therefore the results fall under the uncertainty allowed.

  1. underwater weighing method F(buoyant)=.39( +or - .11)
  2.  volume of object method F(buoyant)=.36( +or - .03
  3.  displaced fluid method F(buoyant)=.39( +or - .02

*I believe that the method that would be more accurate would be the method of displaced fluid due to the fact that it has less uncertainty.

*In part A. if the cylinder was to be touching the bottom of the water container, there will be no tension and therefore this would lead to a really high buoyant force,
